Reflections from A Way of Life.
As we reflect upon OneTribe's A Way of Life 2024 gala, we’re left humbled by such a wonderful evening celebrating how God’s peace is being shared, embraced, and practiced as a way of life in northern Uganda, South Sudan, Sudan, and beyond. We see in so many ways the gospel of peace becoming a way of life in divided communities! In all of this, we praise Him as we give deepest of thanks for you and your partnership in advancing the peace of Christ in these regions.
With nearly 200 guests in attendance, yesterday evening was such a joyous occasion. Together we reflected on God’s faithfulness, remembering OneTribe’s commitment to building strong relationships, enduring partnerships, and empowering local people to build and advance peace that begins and continues with Christ at center.
Introducing Regenerative Farming and Prevent Stop Restore
We also introduced two very new and exciting initiatives last night! One is our new Regenerate effort that addresses increasing, regional food insecurity. Regenerate imparts local farming skills that help restore the land to God’s intended purposes. These skills help sustainably address hunger and growing prevalence of malnutrition by way of higher yield agricultural outputs.
A second is Prevent Stop Restore (PSR). This brand new workshop and field guide equips local leaders in fragile contexts to begin and continue Christ-centered, biblically-based conversations and practices addressing and preventing conflict intensification. Where violent conflict has erupted, PSR offers prompt, collaborative steps toward de-escalation followed by a practical, grassroots approach to personal and community restoration.
Moving video and conversations explored the impact of God-centered peace, the pivotal role of radio in reaching conflict-impacted societies, and the significance of community-based peace workshops and Rejoice training. The need for durable peace is enormous, and OneTribe is empowering people at the local level to form and practice peace - in schools, peace clubs, churches, communities, civic forums and more!
